Smith Optics The Mainline, if it has to fit

What do you want to feel when wearing a full face helmet while cycling? Gee, actually as little as possible... The helmet has to be light, but still offer good protection. It has to breathe and above all it has to fit perfectly. You can tick off all these features at the Smith Mainline, check ✅.

Koroyd and MIPS

The helmet must protect, and it certainly does, thanks to these two systems. Koroyd are thermoformed panels at the top and back of the helmet. They provide optimum protection and maximum breathability.

In combination with the MIPS (Multi-directional Protection System), the Mainline offers complete protection against impact. After all, the MIPS ensures that the helmet can rotate a little in the event of a crash in order to avoid brain damage.

Of course, you also want your helmet to be feather-light, thanks to the Koroyd's system, this is also the case here, without compromising on the thickness of the materials or safety. The Mainline weighs only 770 grams in size medium.

Perfect fit and breathability

With the Mainline you get different sets of (washable) inner pads, so you can ensure the perfect fit. Close the helmet with a D-ring closure under the chin. Ideal for downhill of course and extremely safe, but less handy with enduro, because you also want to take the helmet off occasionally when riding up. Then a clip is more convenient, but that is of course easy to solve if you have a handyman in the house.

The air channels in the helmet ensure that you can move your head efficiently and get enough air while riding. The part around the chin is also left open for optimal ventilation.

The Mainline is also designed to fit perfectly with the Smith Optics goggles. I tested this myself with the Fuel V2 model and can only confirm it. At the front the helmet is wide enough for the goggles frame and at the back the elastic band stays perfectly in place.

The 'AirEvac' system ensures that no hot air comes together on the goggles, but that it is pushed out through the air ducts of the helmet. This to avoid fogging of your goggles.

The Mainline is available in three colours; Matt Black, Matt Sage - Red Rock or the AC - Rocky Mountain Enduro.
